About Home Eyecare
At Home Eyecare, we’ve specialised in providing compassionate, professional home eye tests since 1999 — that’s more than two decades of care delivered where it matters most: in your home.
For thousands of patients across the West Midlands, Worcestershire and Warwickshire, we’ve been a trusted partner in preserving sight and independence for those who can’t easily visit a high-street optician. Our service is driven by a simple belief — everyone deserves excellent eye care, regardless of mobility or circumstance.

Our Story: Home Eyecare since 1999
Founded in 1999, Home Eyecare began with one clear goal: to bring high-quality eye care to people who struggle to leave home. Long before mobile eye testing was a widely recognised service, we were already visiting housebound patients, elderly individuals and people living with a disability to deliver professional eye tests in their own environment.
Over the years we’ve grown, but our mission hasn’t changed — to offer personalised, patient-centred eye care with dignity, respect and integrity. Like other established mobile eyecare practices in the UK, we match the standards you’d expect from a high-street optometrist but with the comfort and convenience of a home visit.
Who We Support
We support patients who are unable to leave home unaccompanied due to age, illness or disability.
This includes people living with reduced mobility, long-term health conditions, learning difficulties or cognitive conditions such as dementia and Parkinson’s disease. We also regularly work with family members and next of kin who are arranging eye care on behalf of a loved one.
Whether care is provided at home, in a residential setting or supported living environment our service is designed to reduce stress while ensuring continuity of care.
Elderly and Housebound Patients
Supporting patients who are unable to leave home unaccompanied due to age, frailty or limited mobility.
Physical & Learning Disabilities

Dementia & Neurological Conditions
Gentle, patient-led eye tests for those living with dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke recovery or neurological conditions.
A Calm, Respectful Approach to Home Eyecare
Home eye testing requires more than clinical expertise — it requires time, understanding and flexibility.
Our optometrists are experienced in working with elderly and vulnerable patients and adapt each appointment to suit individual needs. We take time to explain each step, involve carers or family members where appropriate and never rush a consultation.
This approach allows us to deliver accurate clinical assessments while maintaining comfort, reassurance and trust.

NHS-Funded Eye Care You Can Trust
Home Eyecare provides NHS-funded home eye tests for eligible patients, delivering high clinical standards without unnecessary financial burden.
Our team consists of experienced General Optical Council registered optometrists and dispensing professionals dedicated to community-based eye care.
We are fully compliant with NHS guidelines and manage eligibility checks, documentation and communication on behalf of patients and families. This ensures a clear, stress-free process from first contact through to aftercare and follow-up support.
